Rose to rejoin Cavs for injury rehab amid retirement rumours

4 diciembre 2017 17:23

The Cleveland Cavaliers have announced that Derrick Rose will resume treatment on his injured ankle immediately, making what they call "the next step" in his return to the team.

Rose has played in only seven of the Cavs' 23 games this season and left the team on Thanksgiving weekend.

In his absence, reports surfaced suggesting the 29-year-old was uncertain if he wanted to continue his career.

That option apparently is off the table for the 2011 NBA MVP - who has not played more than 66 games in a regular season since that triumphant campaign with the Chicago Bulls.

"This has been a very challenging and difficult time for Derrick," Cavs general manager Koby Altman said in a release.

"We will continue to provide him with support and have patience as he rejoins his team-mates and works his way back on to the court."

The Cavs are currently enjoying an 11-game winning streak ahead of Monday's meeting with the Bulls.
